VET

Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses are nationally recognised qualifications and provide an opportunity for students to receive credit towards their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCE Vocational Major (VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). These qualifications are provided through TAFEs and are delivered across several Secondary Schools and TAFEs. VET is not a stand alone senior secondary certificate, rather, students can study a VET unit as part of their VCE-VM, VPC and in some cases their VCE program.

As part of their VCE studies, students at Kurunjang Secondary College may also undertake VET Music studies through the College of Sound and Music Production (COSAMP). Upon successful completion of this scored VET in VCE course, students earn a Certificate III in Music, as well as credit towards their VCE.

Western Edge Cluster

Kurunjang Secondary College is proud member of the Western Edge Cluster (WEC) that delivers high quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs for secondary school students from Melton, Caroline Springs, Fraser Rise and Bacchus Marsh.

The Cluster is made up of Government, Independent and Catholic schools. The WEC arrangement is founded on a spirit of co-operation and with the purpose of providing a wider breadth of learning opportunities for all our senior secondary students.

Our nine secondary schools and the sixteen (16) VET programs are delivered at five of our schools. Four (4) have industry specific Trade Training Centre’s with state-of-the-art facilities to deliver Building and Construction, Electrotechnology (Electrical), Engineering and Salon Assistant (Hairdressing).

All programs are completed over two years, as part of a student’s VCE, VCE VM or VPC and provide an additional formal Certificate II or Certificate III qualification.
